What is RFID?
RFID or Radio Frequency Identification is a technology that uses electromagnetic fields to read an RFID tag that is attached to an object. Unlike a barcode, an RFID tag does not need to be placed within the line of sight of a reader. Instead, when an RFID reader is placed near an RFID tag, the RFID tag transmits information using its antenna.
An RFID tag often stores information such as a unique serial number or some product-related information such as batch number, production date, etc. When an RFID tag is attached to an object, the object can be easily tracked through warehouses or during production.
