What is Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) and how does it work?

Suppose a company has many branch offices and the branch offices need to be connected to each other and the headquarters in a secure way. One way of doing so is to create separate tunnels to connect the branch offices and the headquarters and configure the tunnel endpoints statically. But, this solution may not be scalable if there are many branch offices. Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) is a type of VPN that provides the ability to create a dynamic VPN network with multiple sites without having to pre-configure the tunnel end-point peers statically.

How does DMVPN work? In this article, we would discuss that in detail.
