What is Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR)?

Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) refers to technologies that help an organization in security orchestration, security automation, and incident response.

Different security and network tools often generate lots of alerts. Security orchestration is a process using which these alerts can be aggregated so that the alerts can be handled manually or automatically.

Using security automation, repetitive tasks can be performed automatically without human intervention. For example, one can scan for vulnerabilities or search for logs automatically.

And, incident response refers to a set of processes and technologies that can be used to address an incident.
