What is SSL/TLS Acceleration?
SSL/TLS Acceleration is a method using which public-key encryption operation of a TLS connection is offloaded to a hardware accelerator. A separate card is used in the PCI slot of a computer and the computer contains one or more coprocessors that handle the computation-intensive processing of a TLS connection. Often custom ASIC or RISC chips are used to do the computation-intensive work. TLS acceleration was previously known as SSL acceleration.
How does this TLS acceleration work? In this article, we would discuss that in detail.
