What is HTTP Tunneling?
Suppose there is a restricted network that uses firewalls to restrict certain protocols for security reasons. Now, let’s say a certain group of people needs to be allowed to use one of those restricted protocols. If the restricted network changes firewall configuration to allow the restricted protocol for all, then that may compromise security. HTTP Tunneling is a method using which a host in the restricted network can establish a network link with another host outside the network through a proxy server and communicate using a restricted protocol without compromising the security of the entire network.
How does HTTP Tunneling work? There are two methods using which HTTP Tunneling is done. In this article, we would discuss that in detail. But, before we discuss that, let’s understand what tunneling is.
