What are BPDU and BPDU Guard?

BPDU Attack

A BPDU or Bridge Protocol Data Unit is a frame that is exchanged between switches in an extended LAN that uses Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) topology. These BPDU frames are exchanged to prevent layer 2 loops and broadcast storms. And, BPDU guard is a security feature that is used to prevent BPDU related attacks.
