What is the OSI model?

The Open Systems Interconnection or OSI model is a conceptual model that standardizes how different communication systems should communicate with each other using standard protocols. The development of the OSI model started in the 1970s. And, it became a working product of the Open Systems Interconnection group in the 1980s.

What are the layers of the OSI model and how does data flow through the OSI protocol stack? In this article, we would discuss that in detail.
