What are the different types of disaster recovery sites?

If the primary production site of an organization gets affected by a disaster such as fire, flood, or any other man-made disaster, the organization needs to restore its IT infrastructure and critical business operations from a disaster recovery site. There are three types of disaster recovery sites:

  • Cold Site
  • Warm Site
  • Hot Site

What is the difference between a cold site, a hot site, and a warm site? Let’s try to understand that.
