Data Owner vs. Data Steward

What are data owners?

Data owners are senior employees within an organization who are responsible for the quality of the data. If there is any quality issue with the data, it is the responsibility of the data owner to take proper actions.

For example, a marketing manager can be the data owner for customers’ data. He may control data collection, protection, and the uses of the data. He will also be responsible for the quality of the data.
