What is Mobile Device Management (MDM)?

MDM refers to Mobile Device Management. Mobile Device Management or MDM is security software that enables IT administrators to monitor, manage, and secure mobile devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.

Mobile Device Management solutions use client-server architecture. In an MDM solution, all mobile devices work as clients and there is an MDM server through which all mobile devices can be managed. This MDM server is used to push configurations, policies, or apps to mobile devices. MDM solution can also help in tracking lost or stolen mobile device or remotely wiping a mobile device.
