What is Teardrop Attack?
A teardrop attack is a Denial of Service (DoS) attack in which attackers send fragmented IP packets to a target system such that the target system cannot reassemble the fragmented packets and the packets overlap one another. As a result, the target system crashes causing a DoS attack.
How does the Teardrop attack work and how can we prevent it? In this article, we would discuss that in detail. But, before that, let’s understand what an IP header looks like and what the fragmented offset in an IP header indicates.
