Denial of Service or DoS attack is a type of cyber attack in which attackers make a system or network resource unavailable for its intended users by disrupting the services provided by the system connected to the network. In a typical scenario, attackers flood the targeted system with a massive number of requests, and the requests consume so many resources that the system fails to respond when a legitimate request comes. Attackers often make this DoS attack by sending a huge number of requests from multiple sources. Such DoS attacks are called Distributed Denial of Service Attacks or DDoS attacks.
Layer 7 or Application Layer DDoS attack is a type of DDoS attack in which attackers use processes of layer 7 of the OSI model to flood the target system. How does the layer 7 DDoS attack work, and how can we prevent it? In this article, we would discuss that in detail.
